Weight Watchers

So maybe if I post my Weight Watchers progress on my blog, I will be SO embarrassed that I will TRY HARDER to lose weight. Last week I gained 1.6. I, surprisingly am not too upset with myself. We all went through a lot with the storm.

I have made the correct steps to lose weight, now it is just a matter of following through. I am allowed 20 points for the day, and 35 extra points for the week to be spent however I want. I could use them all in one shot, or add 5 points to every day. Here are some popular restaurants food points values:

  • McDonald's Hamburger = 6 points
  • McDonald's Big Mac = 13 points
  • Denny's Lumberjack Slam = 25 points
  • Denny's Chicken Strips Dinner 1 serving = 15 points
  • Denny's Mini Burgers with Onion Rings = 50 points
  • Burger King Medium Chocolate Shake = 18 points
  • Burger King Bacon Double Cheeseburger = 14 points

So, if you eat out a lot, staying within your points range can be difficult.

I have joined a gym (The Jewish Community Center), and I think I am in the right mind frame to lose weight. My goals are realistic, and attainable. I have to lose 7.6 pounds to be where I was before (Zooma Zooma). Now, I am quite aware of the fact that 7.6 is not a lot. But on a Sweet Gherkin like myself, it looks like TWICE as much. I am allowing myself 2 months to get this done (approximately 1 pound a week). So, every week on Thursdays (starting NEXT Thursday), I will be posting my Weight Watchers results whether I lose or gain.

Maybe that will kick my ass into gear!!

Finally back online!

What a long f-ing week that was. There are trees everywhere, wires everywhere. In fact, there is a wire that was ripped off the side of Todd's place and it is laying in his front yard in some water. We figured it was a phone line, because that is the only thing we don't have yet. So we are walking around it, clearing trees, shoveling. We wake up the other morning to find caution tape all around the front yard. Even though we have electricty, that line is a live electric wire. YAY! This was the headline in the Buffalo News:

I took some pictures with my cell phone, which I will post when I figure out how. :) I hope everyone in the WNY area is safe and sound!!

Till Tomorrow, Mr. Byrne...

A Man of No Importance is over. The show was especially difficult today. I think we were all preparing for it, but it really hit us while we were packing up our bags, and signing pictures.
I have been in shows that when it closes, it really tugs at my heart. Others you cannot wait to get them over with. I remember coming into the last show of Zooma Zooma and Norm, Wendy, Marc and I started crying during warm ups. Spitfire was tough, LaMancha was tough. This show though, my God! I finished my song today, and my throat started to hurt. I was trying so hard not to cry. I blubbered while Brian was singing Love Who You Love. I Tammy Faye Baker'd after Salome, and when I have to say goodbye to Brian at the end, I sounded like Linda Richmond. I tried SO hard to keep it together. BUT, while I was trying to sing my goodbye song, I took most of the cast down with me. I had a wonderful time with this show. I am so glad I did this. This show will stay with me for a long LONG time. "Well I'll see you St. Imelda's, what is there to say? Close the door and pack up the cart..."

Is anyone else surprised I haven't blogged about Disney World yet?

This is from Magical Mountain, a website that I frequent!!

As if they've been tapped on the shoulder by a magic wand, Disney Parks guests -- thousands every day -- are about to enter a whole new world.

For 15 magical months beginning Oct. 1, a spectacular Disney event like none other will celebrate the dreams of guests. Dreams that make them smile. Dreams that soar and spark the imagination. Dreams that fulfill their grandest Disney fantasies. Dreams from once upon a time to happily ever after.

During "The Year of a Million Dreams" celebration, literally millions of dreams will come true.

Dreams to surprise and delight guests and unique experiences will be hallmarks of "The Year of a Million Dreams."

As part of the celebration, extra-special dreams will be awarded through a random process as part of the unique Disney Dreams Giveaway. With the sprinkle of a little pixie dust by day, a vacationing mom might be chosen to spend that night with her family in a new royal suite inside Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World Resort. Disney Vacation Club memberships, traveling around the world as a parade grand marshal in each Disney theme park, sporting exclusive pins and Mouse ears -- dreams from fun to fantastic will shower down on guests during the celebration. Other amazing dreams-come-true: magical Disney Cruise Line sailings; Adventures by Disney vacations; a private shopping spree for Disney merchandise; Dream FASTPASS badges to enjoy many popular park attractions; special park after-hour events; or a visit to Walt Disney's apartment at Disneyland including a dining experience.

For the overnight stay in the Cinderella Castle Suite, a Walt Disney World guest at the parks or Downtown Disney will be selected randomly by early in the afternoon almost every day beginning in late January. The guest and up to five members of their party will begin their dream-come-true night that evening at Cinderella's Royal Table, the popular restaurant located in Cinderella Castle.

Can't be in the parks? You may still have a dream-come-true through a mail-in entry (details at disneyparks.com/rules). For example, mail-in winners could win prizes such as the Disney Vacation Club membership, grand marshal of a Disney parade around the world, exclusive trading pins or Mickey Ear Hat. (Some prizes, such as the Castle and Mickey Mouse Penthouse stay, require same-day use so mail-in winners will receive a prize of comparable value.)
Dreams will be awarded every day at Disney parks and Downtown Disney in Florida and California. While workers complete the Cinderella Castle Suite (opening late January 2007), the other fantasies begin Oct. 1 as Disney launches enough dreams to make Tinker Bell blush.

And all it takes: a tap on the shoulder by Disney cast members on special assignment as the Dream Squad during the magical year.

Meanwhile, thousands more Disney cast members -- famous for guest service every day of the year -- will be creating an unprecedented number of Magical Moments during this magical year. They're taking Disney friendliness to new heights with personal interactions marked by special surprises.

Amazed guests might find themselves leading the countdown and sprinkling pixie dust to open a Disney park in the morning. Or they might join the performers on a float in "Mickey's Jammin' Jungle" parade. Or aboard Cinderella's Golden Carrousel they might suddenly find a Disney princess sidesaddle on the next horse.

**Please note, no tears were shed while reading this. Thank you.
