Curtain UP!

My friends, it is almost time for CURTAIN UP! There are so many wonderful shows to see, and so many places to see them.

September 15 - October 15, 2006 at the Kavinoky Theatre

Music & Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, Book by Burt Shevelove & Larry Gelbart

"Tragedy tomorrow, comedy tonight!" From the same creative team that brought us last season's hugely successful MAN OF LAMANCHA comes A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM - light, fast-paced, witty, irreverent and one of the funniest musicals ever written - the perfect escape from life's troubles. Starring Norm Sham, FORUM takes comedy back to its roots, combining situations from time-tested, 2000 year old comedies with the infectious energy of classic vaudeville. Time Magazine praises FORUM as "a good, clean, dirty show! Brings back belly laughs!" Stars - Norm Sham, Lou Colaiacovo, Sheila McCarthy, Tim Newell, Nicole Marrale-Cimato, Charmagne Hale, Kristy Schupp, Marc Sacco, Bobby Cooke, Joe Wiens, Joe Demerly... to name a few!

September 13 – October 15, 2006 at Musicalfare Theatre

Conceived & Written by Beth Gilleland & Bob Beverage, Musical Arrangements by Raymond Berg

This regional premiere offers an insider’s view into the personal and private lives of the most successful female group of all-time: the Andrews Sisters. Featuring all of their hit songs, including "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," "Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree," "Bei Mir Bist du Schon" and many others, SISTERS OF SWING chronicles the lives of the Andrews Sisters, their successful pairings with other recording artists such as Bing Crosby & Danny Kaye, and the peaks and valleys of their showbiz careers. Stars - Kathy Weese, Debbie Pappas, Kelly Meg Brennan, Phil Farugia, and Todd Benzin.

September 8 - October 8, 2006 at Irish Classical Theatre Company

Stage and screenwriter Terrence McNally (The Full Monty) is reunited with his Ragtime collaborators, lyricist Lynn Ahrens and composer Stephen Flaherty, in this hugely entertaining musical journey. A delightful musical filled with sparkling wit and heartfelt emotion. This enchanting and poignant musical tells of a Dublin dreamer, a stage-struck bus conductor obsessed with producing the works of Oscar Wilde. A Man of No Importance features ARTIE Award winning actor Brian Riggs in the lead role of Alfie. Also stars - Joe Natale, Kelli Bocock-Natale, Loraine O'Donnell, Lisa Ludwig, Guy Balotine, Tom Zindle, Maggie Zindle, Chris Critelli, Andy Moss, Kerry Kate Abel, John Joy, David Autovino, Chris Standart, Jack Holahan, Patrick McGee, Meagen Reilly and ME!

So support the arts, and come see one show, or ALL of them. See you on the other side!

TGIF!

This week flew by. I am rehearsing for a show and working full time, which doesn't allow much time for anything or anyone. I forgot how tiring working 40 hours a week was. Hopefully my body and mind will adjust to this schedule so I can feel somewhat human again.

Until then, I will continue to feel like this.

For Lou...

Lou loves pigs (as most of you know), and once in college I bought those dog treats that are dried pig ears and put them on his pillow. He loved that. They still had pig hair all over them.
Later that same year I found a jar of pickled pigs feet, but I decided he was traumatized enough. Thanks to Peter Cumbo, I was directed to another glorious pig torture for my best friend Lou. Here you go, my sweet friend. You are lucky to have me... I know.

SIDE NOTE: This translates to, "One eats with pleasure and... without tiredness. Sausage of absolute pure food. Good sausages of the prodigal pig."

LONNNNnnnggg time...

Wow. Sorry it has been so long since my last post. I am sure Todd would apologize for the Monkey Face more, but personally, I like looking at it.

So...

We open on Thursday. So far I have seen UNDIES only, and one ass a winking. Yeah, I screamed. Loud. I scared everyone. Oops.

I start rehearsals for A Man of No Importance on Monday, and a new job on Thursday. Needless to say, this upcoming week is going to be hell. Becoming a grown-up SUCKS.
